Dennis will cover topics relating to confined spaces including: the comparison between general industry and construction, typical hazards and violations observed in the execution of confined space activities and the key areas to focus on during site evaluations or inspections.

Dennis M. Dougherty is the president and CEO Med-Tex Services, Inc. The Philadelphia-based safety, health and rescue company has been supporting facilities and contractors for over thirty years. Dennis has over twenty years of experience with confined spaces ranging from Safety Coordination to Confined Space Rescue. He is extremely active in the safety industry and is the past-president of the Mid-Atlantic Construction Safety Council (MACSC). He has been involved in several University-driven safety programs and supports an array of industries such as construction, healthcare, pharmaceutical and power. Academically, Dennis has earned an undergraduate degree in Management Information Systems from St. Joseph’s University, a master’s degree in Environmental Health with a focus on Industrial Hygiene from Temple University and a master’s degree in Business Administration with a focus on Management from LaSalle University. In addition, Dennis holds several industry certifications such as the STS (Safety Trained Supervisor) and CHST (Construction Health and Safety Technician) status from the Board of Certified Safety Professionals (BCSP), the PA Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) certification and is an OSHA Outreach Trainer for both general industry and construction.
